October 2023, Hunger Has No Religion in partnership with the amazing nonprofit organization, Think Positive Live Life Happy will serve those most in need in Africa.

Members of both organizations will travel to Nairobi, Kenya on a mission trip to help an orphanage housing 22 orphans and a local senior home with elders in need of food, fresh water, and essential supplies.

Hunger Has No Religion needs your help, support, and monetary donations to make this mission a success.

The goal is to purchase and provide each orphan with food, fresh water, new bedding, new school uniforms, shoes, toys, necessary antibiotics, sanitizers, masks, and essentials such as detergent, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and soap. In addition, we plan to provide the orphans with new school bags, lunch boxes, and school supplies, both organizations will also pay for their school/tuition fees for 2024.

In support of the senior home, we plan to provide food, fresh water, hygiene items, and many more essential supplies. We need your help, this mission trip will aid many.

We ask that you donate what you can and please share our fundraiser with your family, friends, and community leaders.

Your support means the world to us and allows us to help the most vulnerable populations. Thank you in advance for all your donations, support, and prayers!

THANK YOU

Today's seismic transformations have forced everyone to act and think differently. The way we give, serve and assist people in need required us all to restructure and reimagine what public service and philanthropy looks like. In the last two years, Hunger Has No Religion has done its best to adjust and transform its operations not without the help from our faithful donors, supporters and volunteers.

Early on during the pandemic, we as an organization, like other nonprofits, felt stuck, unable to serve the community in an effort to keep the greater community safe.

My message this year is one of thanks, gratitude, persistence and perseverance. We thank everyone for being patient and dedicated to our mission.

Though we are not completely out of the pandemic woods, we still practice safety measures on the streets and provide mask and sanitizing products to our unsheltered patrons.

HYGIENE KIT DISTRIBUTION & clothing donations

Hunger Has No Religion serves the unsheltered population of the Atlanta Metro area, to also include military veterans, by providing hygiene essentials collected from donations by the community.  Some of these hygiene essentials include: soap, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant and toilet paper, all of which can be found and purchased here.

In addition to providing hygiene essentials to the unsheltered population of the Atlanta Metro area, Hunger Has No Religion also distributes clothing donations collected from our community.  We appreciate all new, nearly new, contemporary, and seasonal apparel for men and women. However, during the winter months we have a particular need for cold weather apparel.

If you are in the Atlanta, GA, South Florida, or Chicago, IL areas, donation pick up is available!

Please click here to contact us if you'd like more information on ways to donate hygiene essentials, if you are in need of a donation pick up, or if you'd like to join us for a Day of Service to distribute hygiene essentials to unsheltered patrons.

IDARA'S HOUSE PROJECT

13680493_2059353900956765_70290281255741

Idara’s House was inspired in 2016 by HHNR Founder, Donny Edwards', youngest daughter Idara.

With tears in her eyes over the unsheltered and their situations, she asked her father to buy a house for the unsheltered during a date night over dinner. Donny decided a few years later he would somehow fulfill Idara’s request...

Idara’s house will provide transitional housing and develop an individualized support program for unsheltered men and veterans.

Transitional housing is a tool that can help stabilize individuals, get them out of shelters, and off the streets.

Given the sometimes complex and majorly diverse needs of the unsheltered population, it is imperative to provide other types of accommodations and support to help provide the solution to this crisis, not just provide services to manage it.

The goal of Idara’s House is to not only provide transitional housing but a variety of support services such as case management, rent supplements, employment training, job placement, education referrals, health care services, addiction services, mental health services, financial wellness planning, and also to provide recreational and social activities.  All of these services will be provided contingent on participation in our program and with the goal to secure permanent housing upon completion of the program.
